Class Help - Where to go if you want to improve.

If you are looking for some help beyond the wowhead\noxxic\icyveins guides, I would suggest where I started: https://www.reddit.com/r/CompetitiveWoW/

If you are not a fan of reddit, there is a link list on the right side menu of the reddit page to class specific discords. The discord channels is where I get most of my help and info. These are chat based channels, as I have yet to use the voice channels and rarely see anyone in them.

Specifically for DPS:

Sim your character to get your stat weights. This is very important to get the most out of your character. Remember, with each new piece of equipment you get, your stat weights will change.

The actual program to sim your character: https://www.simulationcraft.org/
The add-on to pull your current equip and import into SimC: https://mods.curse.com/addons/wow/simulationcraft
The add-on I use to compare equipment: https://mods.curse.com/addons/wow/pawn
How to sim your character: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1pW5 ... =drive_web
or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kPvjkW0ZkxM

If anyone has any questions, ask in guild or message me. I will be happy to help.

+1

This is THE best way to analyze your gear as a DPS class. It gets more murky for tanks and healers but all DPS should give this a whirl, it may seem daunting at first but its not that complicated once you do it the first time I promise.

Help me Obi-Dag-Kenobi.

You're my only hope.

Seriously going to give this a shot and will likely need some help going through it. Looking at the logs - Im clearly doing something wrong on certain fights if Im ranking in the 20s...

If you are using SimulationCraft, make sure you are keeping it up to date (use the nightly build for now). This is very important for sims to be accurate. Also note, some classes may be behind (each spec has its own maintainer normally) or still working out the rotation. I suspect once we start seeing numbers from NH there will be another update to SimulationCraft.

Example: Stealth nerf to SA (procs SB at roughly half the rate it did) skewed early sims for Enh Shamans.
